Matilda. Food for 88mm gun.

knightsbridge was a strategic crossroad located 40 km from Tobruk; it joined the road between Ain-El-Gazala and Sidi-Mufta with Bir Hakeim.
On the 5th of june of 1942, happened there the battle of Cauldron. 32ª army tank brigade lost 50 of 70 matilda, completing a new defeat for general Ritchie that leave Tobruk seriously threatned.
Matilda tank can not fight against german 88mm gun, that shooting at maximum range in a flat ground, crushed without compassion to the tall and slow Matilda.
Knightsbridge era un estrategico cruce de caminos situado a unos 40 km de Tobruk; de el partian caminos que unian Ain-El-Gazala con Sidi-Mufta y Bir-Hakeim.
El 5 de junio de 1942 tuvo lugar alli la batalla del caldero. La 32ª brigada de carros del ejercito perdio 50 de sus 70 matilda, consumandose una nueva derrota para el general Ritchie, que dejaba a Tobruk gravemente amenazada. El matilda no podia hacer nada contra los cañones alemanes de 88mm, que disparando a la maxima distancia y en terreno plano machacaban sin piedad al lento y alto matilda.
