M-8 Greyhound. Liberating hometown.



F.F.I members took part in the liberation of towns and cities of France. They fought against nazi occupation during years, and in the end they won and arrested their oppressors. Most of them liberated his towns get in to a tank, driven by a french soldier who was defeated in 1940 and came back his country victorious. For both it was their glory moment.
Los miembros del F.F.I participaron activamente en la liberacion de los pueblos y ciudades de Francia. Combatieron contra la ocupacion nazi durante años y al final vencieron y detuvieron a sus opresores. Muchos de ellos liberaron su pueblo subidos a un blindado conducido por un frances que , derrotado en 1940, volvia a su tierra victorioso. Para ambos era su momento de gloria.

ISU-122. Mother country of paper.


ISU-122 commandant goes and meets two comrades. Russian self propelled gun shows off in its side the mother country image. Painting slogan was usual, but if they hadn't paint, they could glue posters; by the way, designed by the best russian artists.
El comandante de un ISU-122 recibe la visita de unos camaradas. El autopropulsado ruso luce en su costado la imagen de la madre patria. Lo usual era pintar un slogan patriotico, pero si no habia pintura se pegaban carteles, diseñados por los mejores artistas rusos.

Somua S-35. Abandoned in Arras.




Two french Somua S-35 tanks, abandoned in the town of Maroeuil, are guarded by wehrmacht policemen.
The town was evacuated in 23th of may 1940 on account of a big german attack during Arras offensive. For prevent to be attacked by stukas, they used towns and forest as shelters. Same day british expeditionary force received the order for evacuate France.
Dos carros franceses Somua S-35 abandonados en el pueblo de Maroeuil son custodiados por gendarmes del ejercito aleman.
El pueblo fue evacuado el 23 de mayo de 1940 a acausa de un gran ataque aleman durante la ofensiva de Arras. Para evitar ser atacados facilmente por stukas, usaban los pueblos y los bosques como refugio. Ese mismo dia el cuerpo expedicionario britanico recibio la orden de evacuar Francia.

Hanomag 250. A foot in Europe.






An armed soldier with a sten guards prisoners of several german units crossing the town of Battipaglia, where other soldiers clears the area of derelict german arms, mines and bobby traps.
On 18th of september 1943, many isolated german units surrendered when they realized that the fight was in vain. The 20th of september the battle of Salerno finished.
Un soldado armado con una sten traslada prisioneros de diferentes unidades a traves de la ciudad de Battipaglia, donde otros soldados limpian la zona de armas alemanas abandonadas , minas y trampas explosivas.
El 18 de septiembre de 1943, muchas unidades alemanas aisladas se rinden al ver que su resistencia era inutil. El 20 de septiembre la batalla de Salerno se dio por terminada.

Wet mud in a rainy afternoon. Hanomag 250





The 18th of december of 1944 in the afternoon, troops of 2º panzer division took Clevaux. The advance was slow, because of narrow and muddy roads, that in many times turned the german assault into long traffic jam of all kind of vehicles.
A drawback that "Wacht am Rheim" (keyword of the operation in ardenne) didn't foresee.
En la tarde del 18 de diciembre de 1944, efectivos de la 2ª division panzer tomaron Clevaux. El avance habia sido lento debido a las estrechas y embarradas carreteras que en muchas ocasiones convertian el avance aleman en largos atascos de trafico de todo tipo de vehiculos. Un obstaculo que "Wacht am Rheim" (nombre en clave de la operacion en las ardenas) no tenia previsto.
